Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using the Snapfari website and mobile app (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service & beta status

Snapfari is a real-life collecting game: you photograph wildlife, our AI identifies the species, and it is added to your collection. The Service is currently offered as a free beta. It is provided "as is" and may change, be interrupted, or contain bugs. Features, species and availability may evolve without notice.

3. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and choose a username that is not misleading, offensive or infringing.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account.
• One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise.

4. Acceptable use

When using Snapfari, you agree not to:

• cheat or attempt to bypass the anti-cheat system (e.g. submitting photos that are not genuine, first-hand sightings);
• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of others' rights;
• disturb, harm, capture or endanger animals, always observe wildlife from a safe distance;
• enter protected, private or dangerous areas in violation of local rules or laws;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Service.

5. Your content

Photos you take are used only to identify a species and are not stored on our servers (see the Privacy Policy). The capture data generated (species, date and, if enabled, location) belongs to your collection. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to take the photos you submit.

6. Wildlife & safety

Snapfari encourages responsible observation. You are solely responsible for your own safety and for complying with all applicable laws on wildlife protection, private property and access to natural areas. Never approach, feed or disturb animals to make a capture.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including the "Snapfari" name, logos, software, illustrations and content, is owned by the publisher or its licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided without warranty of any kind. Species identification is automated and may be inaccurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.

9. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or misuse the Service. We may also discontinue the beta at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute will be subject to the competent French courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
